CV joints are covered by rubber or plastic boots. Known as a CV boot or drive axle boot, these parts are responsible for keeping the joints lubricated and preventing dirt and water from getting in. Unfortunately, this is a part that sometimes fails.
The constant velocity or CV joints are an important part of the steering and suspension system on all front-wheel drive vehicles.
The inner CV joints connect the driveshaft do the transmission, while the outer CV joints connect the driveshaft to the wheels. These joints allow for a correct and constant transfer of torque between the transmission and the wheels.
