The constant velocity or CV joints are an important part of the steering and suspension system on all front wheel drive vehicles. The inner CV joints connect the driveshaft do the transmission, while the outer CV joints connect the driveshaft to the wheels.
These joints allow for a correct and constant transfer of torque between the transmission and the wheels. In order to function correctly, the CV joint needs to be sealed within a boot.
The CV Boot is a ribbed, rubber flexible boot that keeps water and dirt out of the joint. It also keeps grease inside, which lubricates the CV joint and allows it to function properly.
